2006 NRF LP Conference
06/09/2006

Highlights from the NRF Loss Prevention Conference

Retail executives from all segments of retail gathered in Minneapolis, MN this past week to learn, network and share best practices at the 2006 NRF LP Conference & Exhibition.

Hart Systems was there, spending quality time with many of our clients, making new friends in the retail industry, and demonstrating our rental self-scanning solutions – including the most accurate physical inventory system available today.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, and special thanks to those who joined us at our dinner at The Oceanaire to kick off the weekend - not only was it delicious, it was great company as well!

Other highlights of this year's conference included the keynote presentation by Mike McCurry and many interesting seminars, including: 'Dr. Hollinger's Town Hall' – which included the latest trends in loss prevention and a Q&A session with Dr. Richard Hollinger and his panel of experts: Michael Liberatore (Macy’s Florida), Tim O’Connor (Polo Ralph Lauren) and Bob Serenson (Babies 'R' Us); 'New and Alternative Views to Loss Prevention' with Paul Stone (Best Buy) and Ernie Deyle (CVS); 'Organized Retail Crime – A Comprehensive Strategy' with John Talamo, Paul Kay & Kevin McAlister – all from Limited Brands; 'Improving Your Audit Process Through Technology' by Chris McDonald (Babies 'R' Us); and the U.S. government played a role at this event as well with a session on 'Enhancing Global Security Program' with Billy Alfano (U.S. Dept. of State); and much, much more.

There were various other seminars and round-table discussions on many interesting topics. For a full itinerary of all of the events, go to:

In addition, there were many networking opportunities including the annual charity golf outing and a special Casino Night co-hosted by Limited Brands & Polo Ralph Lauren which raised over $215,000 for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (www.missingkids.com)!!!

Many retailers commented that their most productive time was spent meeting with vendors in the Exhibit Hall, and at the LP Roundtable Discussions, facilitated by the leading executives in the industry, and where they had open discussions and shared information with their peers.

Next year, the 2007 NRF LP Conference will take place in San Diego, CA - and Hart Systems will be there! If you'd like more info on next year's event, please send an e-mail to sales@hartsystems.com or call us at (800) 252-2818.
